Syria Accuses U.S. Interference

Syria accused the United States intervened in the protests that rocked the Middle East countries during the last four months, after U.S. Ambassador Robert Ford visited the restive city, Hama.
In the city of hundreds of people fled for fear of the military crackdown ahead of demonstrations antirezim Bashar al-Assad held after Friday prayers.
The presence of U.S. ambassador''in Hama without prior consent is clear evidence of uncle Sam's intervention in the ongoing events, and their efforts to increase the tension, which undermine security and stability of Syria,''the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Syria warns against''irresponsible behavior like that and asserted his determination to continue to take all steps to restore peace and stability of the country,''the statement said following a visit Ford.
According to Washington, Ambassador Ford hopes to stay in Hama to take part in anti-government protests that usually starts after Friday prayers.
The visit was certainly made of Damascus fury. Hundreds of people had left before the rally yesterday with Hama banner''there is no dialogue with the regime of President Bashar al-Assad'', say activists. They headed Salamiyah, about 30 kilometers to the southeast.

Syrian authorities were trying to quell protests in Hama, who used to be the center of opposition to the central government, and deliver tanks to the main entrance of the city, except in the north.
Board of Supervisors Suraih Human Rights stated that approximately 100 families, or a total of 1,000 people, has left Hama, where Syrian troops reportedly killed 25 people since last Tuesday. Chairman of the agency, Rami Abdel Rahman, said two people were killed in Hama, last Thursday. ''The security forces fired on their feet and then took it away with their vehicles. They were seriously wounded and died on the way to the hospital,''he explained.
A senior U.S. official, who did not want his identity known, said Ford visited Hama to "make contact" with opposition leaders.
Hama is a symbol of opposition since the crackdown on the uprising by the Muslim Brotherhood against the father of President Bashar al-Assad, Hafez al-Assad, in 1982. The incident killed about 20,000 people.
Friday last week, protests antirezim siphon half a million people in Hama. According to the democracy activists, security forces did not intervene, and President Bashar al-Assad dismissed the governor of the city the next day
