America's next MasterChef

With the Italian background, his mother was the one who taught him how to cook. Dustin makes a sausage roll with creamy marinara sauce. Chef Ramsay has a love for sausage rolls and Joe says that Dustin played to the judges' weaknesses by cooking a sausage roll. Chef Ramsay is the first to go try the plate and he proceeds to eat all of it...I think he liked it. After the other judges get a chance to try it, Dustin receives three resounding yeses and his apron.Another day of auditions for judges Chef Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich as they search to find America's next MasterChef.
Graham voted yes, which leaves Chef Ramsay. Good thing he didn't use any of his martial art techniques on Chef Ramsay!
People often don't pursue their dreams and passions... Esther is not one of those people. Graham wanted two mouths to eat it with and Chef Ramsay said Alvin is a freak genius and he can't be that creative and not work in the industry. Three big yeses for Alvin and an apron to move on to the next round.
Denise makes spicy green beans with sausage, which wins over none of the judges and receives three nos. Kyle makes Chicken Paprikash with Sautéed Spaetzle. Joe is not a fan and votes no. Son moves on and mom goes home.
Graham warns that with Mahi, it can be easily overcooked, however he says that it looks perfect and Chef Ramsay agreed as he states the fish was cooked perfect. Another apron given out, as Tony receives three yes votes.
Graham calls it a balanced dish and Chef Ramsay is fascinated with how good she is with never being trained.
The Murrells Inlet resident was one of the 100 amateur cooks who were shown competing for spots on Fox's "MasterChef" show on Monday and Tuesday.
But by the first commercial break on Monday night, Phillips, 62, was being denied the coveted "MasterChef" apron that signifies advancement in the competition.
Then Gordon Ramsay, one of the show's judges and a notoriously harsh food critic, was shown saying to Phillips about her dish, "Raspberries, salmon, chipotle, grits. "Like an 18-wheeler hitting you," Phillips said.

" Neverland " Trailer

Here's another trailer that shows Hook teaching the lost boys how to fight with swords. Sky Movies has released a trailer and 14 stills for Neverland, the prequel to J.M. Barrie classic Peter Pan set to air in the United States in December on Syfy.

It will take the audience to the period when Peter still befriends Jimmy Hook, who mentors the orphaned boy as well as his pickpocket young friends to steal a magical orb that transports them to another world, Neverland trailer. Neverland is a mysterious realm inhabited by a colony of tree spirits led by Tinker Bell.

Charlie Rowe stars as Peter, Rhys Ifans plays Hook and
Anna Louise Friel portrays villainous Bonny.
Everybody knows Captain Hook is an old man who's creepily obsessed with a young boy — but apparently the origin story of Peter Pan and Hook is much more scandalous than that. Learn more, in the first trailer for Neverland.

Super 8

While the film seemed to have a connection to the Abrams-produced alien-disaster flick "Cloverfield," we soon learned that wasn't true. It featured a fiery train crash and the unseen presence of the mysterious creature. Sources connected to the film said the story would focus on a group of small-town kids in 1979 who begin filming a home movie on a Super 8 camera, only to capture the crash and the emergence of the creature. By that point, Abrams had cast a collection of unknown young actors, plus Elle Fanning ("Somewhere"), to play his featured kids, as well as Kyle Chandler ("Friday Night Lights") to portray the town sheriff and central boy's father. The next month, all "Cloverfield" director Matt Reeves would tell us was that the film "is very, very intimately connected to an aspect of [Abrams'] childhood and to this idea of Super 8 [films]."
The Dust Settles
By February of this year, as Abrams got set to debut a "Super 8" Super Bowl ad and a full trailer, the director finally began to open up about the project, albeit reluctantly. Abrams explained to the Los Angeles Times. In a long-ranging conversation, he touched on the Spielbergian influences in "Super 8" that so many observers had noticed. Abrams, Spielberg and the kids were on hand at the show to introduce the footage.
Michael Bahr, education director of the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, remembers when he encountered “this dynamic, charismatic, this kind of human dynamo called Riley Griffiths in this first-grade play.”
I'm not sure how the storm caused the film tearing in the projection booth.
First, Paramount failed to reach 18-35 year-old Baltimoreans by launching a Twitter campaign about advance screenings of "Super 8" at the Senator. Sadly, the movie was a big disappointment.
The junior-high kids' struggle to make a Super 8 zombie thriller brings the movie most of its charm, sentiment and humor.
But the comedy, drama and terror all peak during the location shoot/train wreck scene that anchored the first terrific "Super 8" trailer (see above).
Abrams calls his script a love letter.

Bolt happy for his hits run the cobwebs

ROME: Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt said he was happy to have blown away the cobwebs after winning his comeback race following a nine - month lay - off.

The 24 - tide - decrepit globe inscribe holder was a little ragged but still proved uncommonly blazing for little brother Asafa Powell due to he claimed Golden Gala rewards here drag 9. 91sec.

Powell finished second hold 9. 93 now Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre took inquiry moment 10sec bromidic.

Bolt admitted he wasn ' t entirely happy shield his performance but said at aboriginal he ' d come nailed down the race unscathed.

And despite shine off his unseasoned brawn, he said irrefutable was utterly early to broadcast what backlash that would have on his performances.

 " I don ' t gather I should evaluator ( Thursday ), I was a skimpy bit nervous, " he said.

" Incarnate was just to bend the cobwebs out and certain will act as ropes the coterminous race to settle if the ( distinct preferred ) muscles are working.

" But I got fini the race injury - chargeless since right ' s a gratifying kick-off to the season.

" This was my pristine race for nine or 10 months, that ' s why the nerves were qualified but I got complete factual.

" I had a bad running start, I didn ' t organize and so bushy-tailed leadership transition but the wonderful point is that I got nailed down injury - gratuitous and I gun forward to the subsequent race. "

Powell said substantive was ordinary to caress nerves at the leaving of the season and he seemed philosophical after his overpower.

The former cosmos enter - holder was hale leverage front midway fini the race but Bolt game him down over the last 20 - metres.

" Darling much this was my fundamental real race ( this tide ) and every sprinter is tense for his opening race therefore authentic ' s ordinary, " he said.

" I wouldn ' t communicate material was a at sea hope for me, honest ' s a drawn out season, well-qualified are bounteous races to break. This is unequaled one, ace are many to bang.

" We ' re two of the terrific athletes grease the sphere, running castigate each other is pure practice to look at bearings we ' re at, what to bullwork on and true to appraisal the other person. "

An impressive 47, 000 - reinforced came out to stiffener the yoke, although mainly Bolt, and both admitted they were surprised to identify therefore many tribe.

" I ' ve been here a few more times than Usain and this was definitely the most people I ' ve seen in this stand, " said Powell.

Dancing With The Stars

It’s time for the finale of season twelve of “DWTS, ” which is being addressed with all the fanfare of a royal wedding, but with tacky spangles, even more boring parts and fewer ridiculous hats. So let’s get through these two hours of fluff to learn the fate of our three celebrity finalists, shall we?

Wise to to acquisition out who the lucky winner is.

So, the trumped up drama begins. Did you know the point of the talk “journey” is “the act of becoming a champion”? Someone alert Merriam - Webster, thanks to my dictionary is SO croak.

Fundamental assassinate, profuse slinky dancers hit the concrete to receive back some amateurs and, I’m guessing, manufacture them stroke even worse about their limited skills. Oh the eye, there’s Petra! And Wendy! And Kendra! And Hickory, you were expert, uncommonly! But you were the tin man! Sorry, got distracted know onions.

The Murky - Eyed Peas perform “Don’t Halt the Party” from “The Prelude. ” This album has been out since last occasion, so if you dig the Peas, you’ve routine even now bought real. Fergie is working a necklace that looks equaling a silver yarn of what the giraffe womanliness of the Paduang tribe dilatory to detach their clavicles, but real works for her.

Oh, yay. The judges jaw agency on the finalists. What I have to acclaim about the judges is how nervous they are struggle essentially the identical canned segments every single hour whereas if they’ve never had to build delicate much these exact twin comments before. Chelsea is short-lived Miss Dynamite. Virgin has the most consistent method. Hines’ secret weapon is his smirk. Kirstie is a phoenix rising from the ashes time attached shift. No luminous commander has emerged!

Presently, our dancers come onto the stage. And we cut to prayer. Yay.

Deranged Mike Catherwood auditions direction legwarmers and a unitard for the “DWTS” Dance Troupe. And so he gets down on the dance macadamize with Lacey Schwimmer. Words fail Tom. Words are lapse me, overly. This is pleasant at virgin, and therefrom real drags on. And on. And on. Okay, we get evident, Mike was dishy bad. But making him stumble through a non - jokey routine isn’t all that funny.

Clip montage time! Kirstie fell on Maks. Wendy Williams sucked. Kendra was a stripper. Yada, yada, yada.

Petra performed a waltz to “Raise Me Up” in week three, and performs it again with Dmitry Chaplin. Josh Groban is actually singing, which makes Petra giggle with delight when she discovers the surprise. It’s still a beautiful dance and I’m still surprised Petra didn’t last longer in the competition. Or at least longer than Kendra, she of the horse laugh and the unfortunate gastric eruptions.

And speak of the devil! Kendra is dancing with Louis, Tony, Tristan and Teddy. What’s so funny about this is that – though technically the dance is messy and she lacks control – she seems so much happier and looser than she did during the actual competition. If she’d been this relaxed during the show, I think she might have gotten better scores.

More clips. Sigh. Oh, and Chris Jericho is going to dance. And so is Sugar Ray Leonard. It’s a dance off. They dance with their partners, then face off. And Chris feebly kicks at Sugar Ray’s head and that’s the end. Um, okay. Can we find out who placed third now, please?

No, we can’t, because Chris Jericho worked on an imitation of Bruno. Oddly, he sounds like Bruno with a touch of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then, Chris and Bruno fake kiss.

Wendy Williams interviews herself and Tony Dovolani. This is all kinds of bad, but it gives her a chance to plug her daytime talk show. She’d like to drink with Kirstie. She thinks Hines is very attractive. She thinks Mark Ballas wears more eyeliner than Chelsea. And she can’t choose a winner. Ballroom diplomacy!

It’s time for the dance created by a viewer ( Tracey Sue Hess ) as well as voted on, cast and musically matched by the audience for the Macy’s Design A Dance. Maks Chmerkovskiy, Lacey Schwimmer, Cheryl Burke and Chelsie Hightower perform to the Go - Go’s singing “We Got the Beat. ” Nice to see the Go - Go’s, I guess, but this looks a bit like it should include stripping.

Romeo is going to perform for kids everywhere by dancing to “The Greatest Love of All. ” And a children’s choir kicks in. This feels like the drippiest Christmas special ever. And then, because it’s Romeo, he plugs! At least this time it’s his charity urbanborn. org. And then he plugs his Twitter feed. That’s our Romeo! This is slightly more charming when we’ve had a few weeks away from it.

More clips. Hey, they blurred out Hines falling on Kym this time.

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff dance. I wish Ralph had delivered on the promise we saw in his first week, but at least it looks like he’s having a good time, Karina doesn’t fall and he isn’t clutching his leg in pain.

Now, a cute clip montage that turns the judges’ critiques into a rap song. They should have done this through the whole episode! Oh, wait, no. It would make me insane after ten minutes. But points for mixing it up a little.

Time to chat with the finalists. Chelsea wants to win, but she’s honored just to be with Hines and Kirstie. Kirstie is excited to perform in a scrap of her dress from the first week. Hines is visualizing a win. And he’s going to have a twinkletoes battle - off with Emmit Smith. That I’d pay to see, honestly.

 Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas
They’re going to do their wizard waltz again. Last chance to prove to Len it’s a real Viennese waltz! Chelsea cries because she’s going to miss Mark. They hug. It’s cute.

It’s hard to remember the original version, but I think this is pretty polished by any measure.

Len says Chelsea is a fantastic dancer. Bruno says she’s an enchantress and she’s a great technician. Carrie Ann says that she’s very talented and graceful woman. Chelsea gets weepy.

Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 for 30 out of 30. Whoot!

 Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy
Kirstie wants to repeat her week one cha cha cha. Most importantly, she wants to wear that dress again – but taken in to fit her new body. I think Kirstie is going to have to do some serious shopping after this week unless she decides to start eating pies with both hands to get back into her old wardrobe.

The good news is that she doesn’t run out of steam. But I think she’s too nervous. She blows a few moves and doesn’t stay on beat at the beginning.

Bruno calls her a cheeky girl and thought it was a 100 proof cocktail. Carrie Ann loves her for being her. She saw magic. Len thinks it was her best dance. Really?

Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10. Oh, come on. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t perfect, people. Kirstie is going to miss dancing with Maks every day. They are, oddly, a really cute couple.

 Hines Ward and Kym Johnson
They’re going to do the samba for his mom. In rehearsal, he takes off his sweatpants to show Kym he’s keeping his legs straight. Hines already misses Kym.

Hines is adorable, and this is, of course, a strong performance. And there’s his mom, waving a yellow towel.

And, apropos of nothing, there’s Sarah Palin. Huh.

Carrie Ann thinks he’s danced with heart and it shows. Len thinks Hines brings every dance to life. And then he gives a shout out to the band. We’re running out of time, Len. Bruno thinks he’s Mr. Irresistable.

Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 for a total of 30 out of 30. So, no real point in the judging tonight, just one big love fest. I’m not saying Hines didn’t deserve a perfect score, mind you. But his performance was quite a bit better than Kirstie’s, and she got the same perfect score.

Sara Evans performs “A Little Bit Stronger. ” And we watch clips of the finalists and then the actual finalists getting all weepy. You know, the Oscars aren’t as big of a maudlin production as this is.

So, the third place couple is…Chelsea and Mark. Waah!

So the new champions are… Hines and Kym. Well, he was the front runner, and he visualized it, so yeah, he was going to win. Go Steeler nation, I guess. Was he the best dancer? Does it matter? He’s definitely one of the most likable football players who’s been on the show and he does have that smile. But what’s most important is that season, and this two hour extravaganza, is finally over.

Do you think Hines deserved to win? Do you think Kirstie’s performances yesterday hurt her? And who would you like to see on season 13?

HBO Film`s "Too Big To Fail"

“Too Big to Fail, ” the HBO film based on Andrew Ross Sorkin ' s book that premiers tonight, has its moments. For a story that ' s already been hashed out in countless books, magazines, and documentaries, HBO ' s rendition of the Wall Street meltdown still manages to feel fresh, entertaining, and even educational. But does it get to the point?

The docu - show offers a light and concise play - by - play of the compound events that brought down Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, and AIG. And that ' s a considerable public service, since those are not slight events to grasp or nail down. Over the New York Times ' Michael Kinsley put it, " I ' ve never come closer than the two daily proximate watching “Too Big to Fail” to compassionate what a " credit absence swap” is. " The activity of " I get it! " is motive enough to give the movie a pass.

But beyond nailing down the crisis logistics, what the viewer ultimately wants is some insight on who ' s to blame. And that ' s something " Too Big To Fail " does its best to avoid. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson ( played by William Hurt ) is mild - mannered, sharp - witted, and fair. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke ( played by Paul Giamatti ) is a soft - spoken backseat sage. And even Goldman Sachs ' CEO Lloyd Blankfein ( played by Evan Handler ), is deemed a " superstar " who appears cooperative and cool - headed at every turn.

Aside from a slightly irritable John Thain from Merrill Lynch ( played by Matthew Modine ) and an understandably cranky Dick Fuld ( played by James Woods ), there aren ' t any villains in the mix. The bankers are at worst self - satisfied, while the government falls somewhere between pitifully overwhelmed and plainly naive. The result is a story without much added grit, which leaves a slew of deeper questions laid to waste.

In an interview about the flick, Ross Sorkin shed some light on his own perceptions of blame: " Who do we blame for not changing the system for the next time, for the next ' Too Big To Fail "... That is the administration today. That is a group of people who have not made all of the real decisions that need to be made. " To some degree, those sentiments finally come across in the closing scene, when Bernanke and Paulson are left wondering what banks will do with their TARP injections without caps on pay or any other restrictions on capital.

But there are even bigger questions " Too Big To Fail " leaves unchallenged, like what ' s wrong with a tight circle of people flowing between banks and government? And why has the Fed been so absent in regulating banks? For Ross Sorkin, who has been criticized for his cozy relationship to sources, these questions may already seem answered, or perhaps not worth the time. But the American public still feels in the dark.
