South Sudan Being of New State

Africa's largest country, Sudan, eventually split into two after the Chairman of the Parliament of South Sudan to proclaim independence on Saturday (9 / 7)

"We, the representatives are elected democratically by the people, based on the will of the people of South Sudan, and as confirmed by the results of a referendum on the desire for self-determination, do hereby proclaim the Southern Sudan as an independent and sovereign state," said James Wani Igga.

As reported by AFP, the proclamation of independence, read out in front of dozens of heads of state and delegates from foreign countries as well as tens of thousands of people of South Sudan, which delights-ria. After reading the proclamation, the South Sudan flag hoisted applause.

Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament, said as a "strategic priority", Southern Sudan will require recognition of the UN, African Union, the east African bloc, IGAD, and other international institutions.

South Sudan leader Salva Kiir and then signed a transitional constitution and was sworn in as first president of the new born state. Kiir sworn "to realize development and prosperity of the people of South Sudan".

Northern Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was among the guests of honor at the ceremony, and watch the parade by thousands of former rebel soldiers who failed to beat in the 15 years he became commander of Northern Sudan.
