Australians are subverted Worm Teeth

Two Australians are afflicted by a toothed worm that eats away at their bodies from the inside. These worms enter the body through these two fish they consume.

Quoted from page Herald Sun, Tuesday, July 5, 2011, the couple are eating fish that they hook when camping on the banks of the river Calder, Western Australia. According to the Medical Journal of Australia, these fish contain worm larvae gnathostomiasis.

This case is the first time ever in Australia. The victim, 52 and 50 years, admitted that they can fry fish before eating, somehow worms can still be alive.

Infectious disease expert from the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Andrew Fuller, said the worm is 1-3 mm size and have small sharp teeth. These small worms, Fuller said, can surf the entire human body parts.

"They move under the skin, causing itching that makes you sick. They are difficult to detect," says Fuller.

Those affected will suffer from muscle pain, fever, vomiting, and their skin looks like orange peel. These worms can survive in the human body for 15 years. They can run up to the brain, eyes, and nervous system.

These worms are usually located in the body of freshwater fish, snakes, frogs, pigs and chickens are eaten raw or cooked are not mature. These worms are numerous in Southeast Asia and Japan.
